US President Donald Trump criticized the media and intelligence community
for their roles in forcing the resignation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
“Michael Flynn — General Flynn is a wonderful man. I think he’s been treated very, very unfairly by the media, as I call it, the fake media in many cases. And I think it’s really a sad thing that he was treated so badly.”
Intelligence sources leaked information to the media that Flynn had given assurances to the Russians
that Trump would not continue Obama’s sanctions for alleged interference in the US election.
“…papers are being leaked, things are being leaked, it’s criminal action. It’s a criminal act and it’s been going on for a long time before me but now it’s really going on. People are trying to cover up for a terrible loss that the Democrats had under Hillary Clinton.”
Wikileaks founder Julian Assange tweeted yesterday: Amazing battle for dominance is playing out between the elected US govt the intelligence community who consider themselves to be the ‘permanent government’
Wikileaks also said previously that the Democratic party emails were disclosed through an internal leak,
not hacking by Russia.
So far there is no public evidence to back up either story.
Michael Flynn handed in his resignation on February 13th.
